My Process,
in Three Steps
Meet the student where they are. Every learner is unique. When I meet a new student, I like to learn what excites them, what frustrates them, where they feel most capable, and where there’s the greatest room for improvement.
Make a plan. I then collaborate with the student to generate the two things they will need to succeed: their goals (increase SAT score by 100 points, become a stronger essay writer, write a novella, etc.) and methods (study habits, close-reading strategies, writing exercises, etc.).
Achieve our goals. Each session, I will teach and guide the student using our methods, in the direction of their goals. The end result is a student with a new set of tools, a deeper understanding of the English language, and the self-confidence to succeed.
